A Time Of Remembrance: Remember The Lives Lost Amid COVID

Former RN and community volunteer Kathleen Allan is teaming up with internationally renowned pianist Mark Markham and award-winning producer & publicist Ashley Bernardi to call citizens around the world to join together for A Time Of Remembrance (October 10, 2020 at 10:00am Local Time), a time to honor, hope, heal and remember the loss of so many lives at the hands of the COVID-19 pandemic for 10 minutes of reflection and prayer.

Amid a deeply divided nation, this unique trio realized that while more than 1 million lives around the world and more than 200,000 lives in America have been lost, there has been no initiative to remember the victims of this unprecedented pandemic. They decided to create A Time of Remembrance with the simple goal of expanding compassion and care for the hurting.

“I’m concerned with the lack of recognition and empathy for the pain of families who have lost loved ones,” Kathleen Allan says.  “Humanity needs a sense of connectivity, we need to extend compassion to help each other cope with this ongoing national tragedy.”

“The individual human spirit can really only handle one loss at a time. It is in times like these that joining together for a common purpose can lift up those who have lost so much,” Mark Markham states. “We all share this planet and our basic responsibility while we are here is to treat each other with decency and respect. I know that these few minutes we spend together will make a difference.”

“It’s our hope that this Time of Remembrance will help us feel a sense of unity—a realization that we’re in this together.  If we can share the loss and reflection, it will help us begin to heal,” says Ashley Bernardi.  “It would be wonderful to hear bells ringing out across the country at 10:00 on that Saturday.”

Kathleen, Mark and Ashley are available for interviews both together or individually to discuss the Time Of Remembrance initiative and offer examples of what people can do in their own communities to remember those that were lost.

Kathleen Allan joins Mark Alyn on this edition of Late Night Health.
