John Bonawitz Creator of Myllow the world’s first adjustable travel pillow! With the holidays fast approaching, many of us will be traveling great distances to spend time with our loved ones. Whether sitting in a plane, train or automobile, chances are that our personal comfort will take a back seat. Joining Mark this week is John Bonawitz, creator of the Myllow, the world’s first adjustable travel pillow. They discuss a solution that will make this year’s journey to Grandma’s house a lot more comfortable.
John and Mark talk about why a neck pillow is a good idea for traveling? John talks about working with a chiropractor and how the human neck curves slightly forward (to sustain the weight of the head when upright), and why it’s important to maintain this curve when in a resting position. Myllow does this while molding to the shape of your neck to alleviate pressure preventing the head from bending too far to one side or the other. It also creates a support so that the weight of the head is partially taken care of by the Myllow.
The Myllow was created because the most common complaint by travelers is Neck Strain. The cervical spine, or neck, begins at the base of the skull and through a series of seven vertebral segments connects to the thoracic, or chest region of the spine. These facet joints can wear down over time and lead to cervical spinal stenosis or osteoarthritis. The Myllow fits around the neck to help avoid neck strain while traveling by providing head support while resting or sleeping in a sitting position during travel. If you travel with any sort of frequency, the Myllow will help protect you from any lasting strain.
